Pull your Airwave server's live data into Home Assistant, Tidbyt, or anything that speaks HTTP.
Airwave exposes a public REST API at /api/public/v1 so you can read your server's live data — the guide,
channels, packages, and who's watching — from outside the Airwave apps.
Authenticate with an API key from Settings → API Keys in the admin (the same key the MCP server uses), sent as either header:
X-API-Key: airwave_your_key
# or
Authorization: Bearer airwave_your_keyThe base URL is your server's address plus /api/public/v1, for example
http://192.168.1.10:36020/api/public/v1.
For every endpoint, request/response shapes, and an interactive playground, see the API Reference. The guides below are quick starts for common tools:
- Generic REST — curl and any HTTP client
- Home Assistant — REST sensors
- Tidbyt — a pixlet app
- Webhooks — pushed, signed events (Home Assistant, n8n)
- Live events (SSE) — a real-time stream for Tauri and dashboards
Nothing here streams video — media always plays directly from your Plex. This API is read-only data about your lineup and viewing.
